Manuel Moses

Chief Executive Officer

Manuel is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in engineering, development finance and global leadership. A Zimbabwean by nationality, he began his career as an engineer before transitioning to finance at the Zimbabwe Development Bank (ZDB), where he oversaw initiatives that addressed financial barriers to growth and diversified Zimbabwe’s agricultural base.

At the Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe, Manuel facilitated over USD1 billion in trade and project finance, revitalizing key sectors such as cotton farming. His career further advanced at the Eastern and Southern African Trade Development Bank (TDB), where he helped establish ATIDI’s structure and supported significant projects like Kenya’s Bamburi Cement and Zimbabwe’s now-defunct ZISCO Steel. At the International Finance Corporation (IFC), he assisted in the expansion of its portfolio in Africa, growing it from USD 200 million to USD1 billion and financing impactful initiatives like Kenya’s Kipeto Wind Farm.

As CEO of ATIDI since 2021, Manuel focuses on enhancing the organization’s reputation and delivering innovative financial solutions that benefit millions, including empowering Africa’s Small and Medium

Benjamin Mugisha

Chief Underwriting Officer

Benjamin was confirmed as the Chief Underwriting Officer in July 2020, after acting in the capacity for just over a year. Prior to this, he was a Senior Underwriter. Benjamin has been involved in underwriting transactions across several sectors such as energy, mining, telecommunications, manufacturing, and infrastructure for a wide range of clients including banks, investors, and contractors. Between 2013 and 2015, he was based in Uganda and was responsible for ATIDI’s field offices in Burundi, Rwanda, and Uganda.

Prior to joining ATIDI, Benjamin worked at the East African Development Bank. In his decade-long career at the Bank, he advanced to the position of Senior Project Officer working on various development projects.

Benjamin holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering a Master of Science Degree in Construction Management from Makerere University as well as a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the East & Southern Africa Management Institute. He also has a post-graduate certificate in project planning and finance from Bradford University.

Dr Anthony Ehimare

Chief Risk Officer

Dr. Ehimare joins ATIDI as the Chief Risk Officer. He brings over 20 years of risk management and Institutional Banking experience from international and diverse financial institutions in Africa and North America.

He joins ATIDI from ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development where he served as Director/Chief Risk Officer. Prior to Ecowas Bank for Investment and Development, he worked as a Senior Vice President/Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management Risk Management at HSBC Bank USA.

Dr. Ehimare has a proven track record in risk management, financial analysis, and strategic planning, exemplified by his leadership in reducing non-performing loan ratios and enhancing bank ratings.

He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration with Distinctions from the Swiss School of Business and Management, Geneva Switzerland and an Executive MBA from the University at Buffalo, New York, USA. He has earned several prestigious awards, including the Citibank Global STAR Award and the Gold Award from AADFI.

Gladys Muthoni Karuri

Chief Financial Officer

Gladys joins ATIDI as the Chief Financial Officer. She has over 22 years experience in Insurance and Financial Services, across Africa and the United Kingdom.

Prior to joining ATIDI, Gladys worked at Britam Holdings Plc from 2007 rising to the position of Principal Executive Director of the group responsible for Strategy Development and execution for its 14 subsidiary companies operating in seven sub-Sahara Africa countries. She also served in various senior positions for 9 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Kenya and the United Kingdom.

Gladys is an Alumna of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program 2017 (AMP 193) and Honoree of Business Insurance Women to Watch – EMEA. She holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Warwick Business School, UK and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Nairobi. She is a Certified Public Accountant CPA (K) and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.

Linda Bwakira

General Counsel & Corporate Secretary

Linda commenced her role at ATIDI as the General Counsel & Company Secretary in 2021. She has amassed over 20 years of experience in legal affairs, corporate governance and international finance from several multilaterals in Africa, international financial institutions and law firms across Europe.

 She joined ATIDI from African Reinsurance Corporation (Africa Re), where she served as the Corporate Secretary and General Counsel while based in Nigeria. Prior to Africa Re, she worked in various senior capacities at Trade and Development Bank (TDB) in Nairobi and in Bujumbura. Additionally, she also worked as a Legal Counsel at Paris based Natixis Group and IXIS Corporate and Investment Bank and in different international law firms in France and Belgium.

 She holds a Master’s degree in Business Law and a Postgraduate degree in International Business Law – both from the University of Toulouse (France). She is a bilingual lawyer who is qualified to practice as a French avocat and as a solicitor of England & Wales.
